Position Summary:
The Manager, Physician Compensation leads a team responsible for the administration and analysis of physician compensation. Through the support of MCMF’s independent, employed, and contracted provider arrangements the Compensation team successfully multi-tasks and adapts to the industry’s evolving focus on value-based compensation. The Manager, Physician Compensation interacts directly with physicians and regularly presents complex modeling and financial analysis to leadership. This manager creates and upholds a culture of accountability and promotes employee engagement and professional development. This manager must also be able to make sound, informed decisions, think strategically and is expected to apply Lean concepts to develop process improvements to ensure the long-term success of the organization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises daily work activities of highly-technical staff and capitalize on developmental opportunities while understanding, in detail, their variable and technical responsibilities
- Directs and/or prepares complex modeling and analysis to support strategic initiatives
- Represents the Compensation team on various high-level, high-visibility, cross-functional committees including Capitation Committee and the MCMG Compensation Workgroup
- Oversees the workflow and reviews and approves monthly calculation of provider fees which are diverse and complex
- Oversees the workflow and reviews and approves the calculation of physician bonuses which are diverse and complex
- Works with operations to understand new provider arrangements and incorporates into the necessary workflows
- Review workflows and identify areas requiring improvement, provide recommendations and lead implementation
