The position assists in implementing policies and procedures concerning recruitment, selection and retention of hospital personnel, employee relations, employee health, wage/salary and benefit administration, orientation, annual update and maintenance of personnel records. Supervises the Human Resources and Employee Health Department staff, and the daily operations of the departments. Must possess excellent verbal skills and knowledge of good customer relations for dealing with phone calls. Telephone etiquette and legible handwriting. Bilingual preferred. Must be able to speak, read and write English. Knowledge of regulations governing human resource management is preferred.
The Human Resources Manager facilitates hospital employee relations issues and serves as backup to the Group Chief HR Officer. This position helps strategize the needs of the department, recruitment and retention. Handles and processes all personnel/payroll changes and records. Manages the day-to-day functions of HR, which include benefits, employee questions, wellness and Rewards and Recognition committee. Supervises HR and Employee Health staff. Receives and screens calls, walk-ins and refers them to appropriate personnel. Generates all new hire paperwork, Pre-employment background screening, pre-employment physicals, and maintains employee personnel files. Partners with employee health/work comp for LOA administration. Answers Human Resource related questions regarding policy, procedures, benefits and record information. Facilitates sensitive investigations. Participates in leadership development training. Actively demonstrates the hospital's mission through the positive re-recruitment of colleagues. As well as other duties as assigned. Reports to the Group Chief HR Officer.
Two years of management experience in hospital or health care environment required.
Five years progressive recruiting/retention experience and previous experience in Human Resources including Wage and Hour Laws, Benefits and employee relations required.
Bachelorâ��s Degree or Certification in HR preferred.
