Experience in emergency room operations management desired but not required. This is non-nursing position. Your Role: During the first year, the successful candidate will demonstrate results in the following areas: Build successful partnerships with physician and nursing partners in the ER Effective creation and management of a multi-million-dollar budget for large Level 1 Trauma Center ER Supply Chain Management Quality Improvement Efficiency Studies Improve ER throughput Reporting Relationship: Chief Operating Officer, Vanderbilt University Hospital VUMC Adult Emergency Room Our emergency room is the Level 1 Trauma Center for Middle Tennessee with 92 treatment areas and four (4) trauma bays. We see over 70,000 patients annually. We are Nashville's only academic medical center. Quality: We relentlessly pursue and measure ourselves against the highest quality performance in all areas, from patient care to scholarship Develop and implement programs and operating procedures to assure strategic and operational quality targets are met Provide briefings and presentations to senior leadership on the state of emergency services including problems, concerns, strategies and progress Growth & Finance : We invest our resources in a manner that supports our long-term obligation to society; to achieve local, national and worldwide impact in improving health Develop and implement programs and operating procedures to assure strategic and operational targets related to growth and financial performance are met Manage equipment inventory and space management Innovation: We seek excellence and leadership as we advance our systems of care, educational practices and our commitment to discovery Develop and implement programs and operating procedures that are based on innovative and that adapt to the rapidly changing healthcare environment. Seek out best practices in VUMC and the industry and bring implement those solutions to improve performance of the division. Share knowledge across multiple disciplines within emergency services. Represents needs and interest of direct reports to all levels of the leadership structure.
