Work Hours/Shift: Full Time/Days PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Scope of Responsibility: Assists the Chair in representing the department to Senior AdministrationAble to assume role for department leadership in Chairâ™s absenceServes as an expert in the profession to advise on program changes, new program initiatives, and student recruitmentAssists in recruitment and interview process for faculty, administrative personnel, and other staffDevelops, designs, and delivers instruction in assigned courses and provides course syllabi for instructionParticipates in student advising and mentoring, as well as mentoring of faculty and staffEngages in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship, and research Assist Chair in the maintenance of accreditation standardsCoordinates appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences Actively engages in the institution and department committeesAssist Chair with the design, coordination, and implementation of program curriculumOther duties as assigned Compliance/Regulatory Responsibility: Assists in curricular review, program evaluation, and maintenance of accreditation standards, as well as other aspects of program improvementAssists in developing and submitting accreditation reportsHelps develop and review criteria for admission and makes recommendations to the Admissions Committee Assures the maintenance of adequate student records for evaluating progress of the student Ability to read, understand, interpret, and implement academic policies and procedures Operating & Capital Budget/Financial Responsibility: Assists with short-term and long-term fiscal management and allocation of resources within the Department Strategic Planning Responsibility: Serve as a committee member of the standing committees of the University where applicable Assists the Chair with the five-year strategic plan, updating the goals, objectives, and assessments Performance Improvement Responsibility: May assist Chair in peer teaching evaluations for facultyPromotes faculty development by encouraging: research, writing, participation in professional Helps develop improvement plans for department, faculty, staff, and students in response to assessment findings Community Relations Responsibility: Exhibits and models the characteristics of a Christian professional consistent with AHU standard for âœnurture, excellence, spirituality, and stewardshipâFunctions as a liaison and program representative when interacting with the Program Advisory Board and other community stakeholders Staffing/Labor/Supervisory Responsibility: Assists in recruitment, interview process, and hiring decisions for core faculty, adjuncts, and administrative personnelAssists in evaluating and planning faculty workloads, assigning courses to reflect appropriate teaching load within the program Participates in all course instruction, development technology, and employee scheduling QualificationsKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skillsWork cooperatively with others within and outside department and institutionEffective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels, including administration, faculty, staff, students, and other internal and AND SKILLS PREFERRED: Demonstrated teaching expertise for classroom and clinical instruction, established research agenda EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Doctoral Degree in Nursing or other related areas, such as, Education or Psychology (EdD, DNP or PhD) from a regionally accredited university Education Preferred: EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Two years of experience in Nursing Education Administration or Nursing Leadership Two years of experience in Nursing Education (BSN program or higher level)Five years of clinical experience Experience Preferred: Experience in new course and program development, as well as instructional designOnline Education or instructional technology experience LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Active unencumbered RN and Multi-State Compact Nursing State license Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides leadership and management within the designated program under the direction of
