Details Posted: February 4, 2021 Location: Nashville, Tennessee Show Map Salary: Open Discipline: Operations Description Accountant - Fixed Assets Reporting directly to the Manager Accounting -- Fixed Assets, the Accountant will work closely with departments across Vanderbilt University Medical Center to review, record, and report on the acquisition and disposal of fixed assets. This position will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, ensuring equipment requisitions meet VUMC's capitalization policy, preparing monthly journal entries, reconciling fixed asset subledger records, and facilitating a biennial equipment inventory. A vital aspect of this role is providing high quality service and support to various fixed asset stakeholders across VUMC. The successful candidate will possess intermediate accounting knowledge, strong interpersonal and group problem solving skills, and a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills will be needed for completing certain tasks. Position Qualifications: - Minimum 1 year of relevant experience and/or Master of Accountancy (MAcc) degree - Bachelor's degree in Accounting - Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience Preferred - Business Objects or Business Intelligence system experience - Microsoft Access experience - CPA or intent to pursue licensure Additional Information: Analyzes data and prepares financial statements and reports requiring the application and use of concepts, theories, principles, practices, and terminology of accounting, under appropriate guidance.
