A leader in faith-based senior living and continuing care, Covenant Living Communities & Services (CLCS) is the nation’s eighth largest non-profit senior services provider, serving 5,000 residents and employing a dedicated team of approximately 3,200 staff members, with annual operating revenue of $345 million. Headquartered in Skokie, Illinois, CLCS is pursuing transformational growth both in terms of service offerings and locations and is looking to add a Vice President, Health Services to grow with it. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Community Operations, the Vice President, Health Services (VPHS) will be a seasoned registered nurse who will be responsible for leading the charge for all levels of care (Residential, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing) and be an ambassador to CLCS employees to ensure clinical standards are met. (S)he will have the foresight to identify advancements in medical education and technology and prepare the organization for the same. The VPHS will ensure robust clinical networking with physicians, hospitals, ancillary providers, therapy services, etc. and is responsible for strong clinical outcomes and regulatory compliance across the enterprise. (S)he will have overall operational oversight of the healthcare operations team (pharmacy, sales, clinical, administration). The ideal candidate will be an individual exhibiting the highest level of integrity, compassion, and care who embraces the CLCS values of individuality, spirituality, congeniality and hospitality. Our finalist will be a consummate professional who desires a long-term commitment of service to the organization alongside a highly dedicated team. (S)he will be a good listener and open communicator, who thinks outside the box and is futuristic when visioning how to best meet seniors’ needs. (S)he recognizes CLCS’s stature within the senior living industry and will both continue and enhance its outstanding reputation by remaining highly visible and interactive with both current and potential constituencies. This position is a senior leadership position of a ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church. As a senior leader, the candidate needs to have an active faith in a Christian church and be comfortable as a spiritual leader on a campus, including leading devotions and prayer in group settings. This role requires proven experience in mentoring, motivating, and developing staff as well as experience understanding clinical operations with well-developed clinical operations knowledge and outcomes. As a chief liaison between the central office and campuses from coast to coast, the VPHS will excel at “looking through the lens” of the full organization and discerning effective measures to maximize individual campuses’ clinical performance and enhance organizational efficiencies and ensure best practices. A minimum of ten years of progressive responsible RN leadership experience with at least eight years in a senior management/supervisory role. Experience in Gerontology/Skilled Nursing and experience in a multi-site organization is required (CCRC/LPC environment highly desired). Bachelor’s Degree is required (Master’s Degree in nursing is preferred). American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Certification is a plus.
