ChristianaCare seeks a Director of Pre Hospital Services to be responsible for the operational, regulatory, clinical, financial, and business management of LifeNet, an air medical transportation service, CareNet, a ground medical transportation service, and the Transfer Center, which facilitates the transfer of acute care transfers to or from a ChristianaCare facility. This role will lead in the long-term development and success of these services, including continuously identifying, developing, and implementing methods to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, safety, financial performance, and quality of the services provided to customers. This Director will be responsible for leading and guiding the team to achieve defined goals and objectives.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides leadership and direction in the development of short- and long-range strategic plans; develops goals, objectives, and strategic plans to improve operational efficiency, effectiveness, safety, service, quality, and revenue. Oversees clinical education, ensure that clinical competency and quality are maintained. Performs systems and workflow analyses; collects and interprets statistical and financial data; develops reporting mechanisms for key indicators and reports and explains data and analyses to senior management and key personnel; responds to variances accordingly. Develops and mentors the management team; creates a participative and collaborative management culture; provides guidance to the management team ensuring professional development and succession planning; assists and supports the management team in performing their duties and responsibilities. Works clinically as needed.  Participates on committees at the organizational, local, state and regional level and serves as a resource.  Collaborates with external agencies, community partners and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless transfer of patients to and from ChristianaCare.  Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of ChristianaCare.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Required: Five (5) years of healthcare management experience with demonstrated proficiency in operations, human resources and financial management.
• Required: Five (5) years clinical experience as a PHRN or paramedic in the medical transportation industry.
• Preferred: BSN, MSN, RN (DE, PA, NJ, MD as needed), specialty certification (e.g. CEN, CFRN, CCRN, etc.), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, management certification
