WHAT YOU’LL DO Leads a network of client service and agency support teams, towards an integrated approach to providing mental health, substance use recovery, and physical health services and solutions. Provides highly skilled, collaborative, decision-making, and leadership expertise to ensure agency integrity, quality of services, and progress towards agency goals and vision. Researches the most up-to-date and evolving ‘best practices’ and opportunities to continuously improve, develop, modify, and communicate the scope and quality of clinical and organizational services with staff, people served, and the healthcare community. Enhances the cohesiveness of KMHS services and programs to ensure the most effective, efficient, and the highest quality by understanding the needs of people served, support services, clinical programs, and staff by: maintaining compliance of regulatory, infrastructure, and fiscal requirements impacting agency operations, strengthening internal communications and collaboration between and among all agency services at all levels, recommending and coordinating the implementation of agency changes, evaluating the effectiveness of agency changes via measurable goals, and advancing systems and documentation enhancements. Regularly meets with director leadership and management to establish standards of care, ensure agency decisions and expertise of staff serving people are mutually consistent, protocols meet regulatory requirements, and departments collaborate to enhance service delivery. Monitors and analyzes operational, regulatory, and fiscal reports to assess agency integrity, quality, compliance, and financial trends. Explores and facilitates opportunities for new and enhanced revenue sources and services, collaborations, affiliations, and diversification, to improve service delivery, increase KMHS organizational competency, and strengthen KMHS expertise in the community. Coordinate development, implementation, and monitoring of approved proposals, plans, and projects, that include service expansion and/or focusing on specific people in need of services. Leads internal efforts to maximize productivity and engage staff with interventions such as facilitating timely response to organizational challenges and problems, and proactive communications, team building, and person-centered attitudes. Develops and implements strategies that enhance KMHS image and agency competency with other agencies, healthcare providers, community groups, and the public. Consults with the CEO and management teams to assess and plan for adequate facilities, infrastructure, and skills development to support current and future operations. Direct reports include the senior directors, the medical director, the manager of executive projects and contracts, and other positions as appropriate. Serves as the agency Compliance Officer. As Compliance Officer, emphasizes prevention of unethical, illegal, or improper conduct in the organization. Interacts with people from all areas and communicate effectively with them the issues that are related to compliance. The compliance officer investigates and resolves any problems using existing resources. Observes any type of vulnerability or risk within the compliance program, and creates a plan for corrective action. Assists Compliance Committee members to avoid further risks in the future. Updates compliance training, and policies as required. Chairs Compliance Committee and internal Compliance risk analysis, review, and plans. Initiates and participates in professional development and recruitment/hiring activities that ensure the highest qualified staff. Attends and presents or participates in full Board and committee proceedings. May stand-in when the CEO is not available. Monitoring the continued integration and integrity of agency services in assessment, treatment, continuing care, transfer, and discharge. The monitoring must include a semi-annual review of a sample of the clinical records, agency policies, and procedures. Performs other duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position. WHAT YOU’LL BRING The position requires a Master’s degree and 8 years of progressive experience in clinical, services, and organizational advancement areas, 5 years of which would be in a senior leadership capacity and organizational management. Advanced experience in a community behavioral health setting preferred. The position requires advanced professional knowledge of integrated behavioral health treatment programs for adult and pediatric populations. Requires specific in-depth knowledge of dual diagnosis, age-appropriate pediatric, substance abuse treatment, and vocational rehabilitation programs for diverse general populations, in public education, and those in the criminal justice system. Requires specialized knowledge of modern outpatient, inpatient, and residential care delivery systems. Requires knowledge of the principles and practices of modern management and team leadership including best work practices. Requires working knowledge of personal computers including common office productivity software, internet, and computer-aided programs supporting client records, assessment/diagnosis, and treatment. Requires well-developed human relations skills to achieve and maintain trust and cooperation with peers and people serviced, to deliver formal discussion with classroom-sized groups, and to resolve conflict. Requires advanced math and interpretive skill to conduct and evaluate inferential statistics and financial performance data. Requires professional writing skills sufficient to write policies and procedures, reports, budgets, staffing, and correspondence that may be sensitive and have legal implications. Must have an advanced degree, Masters required Must have documented competency in supervision Must have organizational management experience Has not committed, permitted, aided, or abetted the commission of an illegal act or unprofessional conduct as defined under RCW 18.130.180. Prior experience leading an agency accreditation and/or Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) is preferred.
