Are you ready to help shape the future of our technology transfer efforts? If so, the Office of Technology Development (OTD) legal team has an exciting opportunity for you! We Are: As an academic technology transfer office, we are committed to promoting the application of scientific research results for the public good. We work closely with our colleagues to help MSK achieve its overall mission of conquering cancer! We seek an Assistant General Counsel who has broad experience supporting clinical research collaborations. You will: Review, negotiate and manage the process of executing Clinical Trial Agreements (CTA) with pharmaceutical and biotech industry partners and other academic medical centers. Communicate with internal and external business and legal counterparts. Collaborate with protocol operations, budget and compliance functions as well as research staff, Principal Investigators and external sponsors to understand key issues. Collaborate with colleagues in OTD to ensure the institutions intellectual property interests are protected. Collaborate with other members of the MSK Office of General Counsel regarding legal issues that impact the institution. Review complex agreements to ensure that the terms comply with applicable laws & regulations, MSK policies, and pre-existing MSK obligations. Draft, negotiate, and execute other complex clinical-trial related agreements. Work independently on special contract-related or other legal projects involving and initiatives assigned by Chief IP Counsel. Assist the other legal and contracting staff that works on clinical trial-related agreements including CTAs; Subcontracts for Multicenter clinical trials; Confidentiality Agreements (CDAs); Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) and others. You are: A strong communicator, adept at building partnerships and working collaboratively across teams to meet shared objectives. Capable of maneuvering through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics. Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals. Highly analytical and possess excellent problem-solving abilities. In possession of business acumen to ensure the institutions short and long term goals are met. You Have: A Juris Doctorate (JD) and a minimum of 4 years of related experience. New York State Bar Admission, or the ability to be licensed within a year.
