Details Posted: December 31, 2020 Location: Annapolis, Maryland Show Map Type: Full Time - Experienced Discipline: Executive Luminis Health, a newly integrated health system formed in 2019, serves residents of Anne Arundel County, Prince George’s County and Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Comprised of Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC), Doctors Community Medical Center (DCMC), J. Kent McNew Family Medical Center, and Luminis Health Clinical Enterprise (LHCE), the health system includes 635 licensed beds, more than 6,400 employees, 1,800 medical staff and 1,300 volunteers. The new health system includes more than 80 care sites across the region, improved access to care close to home, enhanced quality and improved health outcomes. LHCE is comprised of multi-specialty practice groups, ambulatory sites and clinics, physician practices and clinical service lines. The newly created $1.2B organization is carrying that same commitment into the future as Luminis Health – a health system that’s here to embrace progress and awaken a new era in care for the community. As CQPHO of Luminis Health, you will assume responsibility for the system-wide function of quality which includes patient safety, infection control, patient experience, and accreditation services as well as care management, care coordination, community outreach, performance improvement, population health, and value base arrangements and progressive payment models for all entities of Luminis Health. The CQPHO reports to the CEO, Luminis Health and the President of the Luminis Health Clinical Enterprise (LHCE)/Chief Physician Executive.Key responsibilities include: Develops and drives the implementation of population health management, care delivery innovation and clinical integration strategies across the health system, to improve health outcomes, reduce total cost of care and reduce health inequities. Works collaboratively with system CEO, entity presidents, CMOs, chairs, service line leaders and other executive and medical staff leaders to develop and execute an integrated portfolio of health system interventions/programs across the continuum of care, from prevention and health promotion to high-risk and chronic care management. Serves as an internal subject matter expert and an external spokesperson on population health, value-based care and quality, educating employees, providers, business leaders, government officials and other key stakeholders. Provides strategic direction for Luminis Health’s clinically integrated network, including guidance, evaluation and support for value/risk-based and innovative contracting arrangements. Develops and promotes partnerships with providers, payers, community organizations, employers and other stakeholders to achieve quality and population health strategic goals and programs. Guides the development of reports and analytics to measure effectiveness of existing programs and development of potential new interventions and programs. Serves as the designated Patient Safety Officer for the system. Develops the organization’s patient safety focus. Drives a culture of patient safety and high reliability. Guides the Board of Directors, executive leadership and medical staff leadership in setting priorities for organizational-wide improvement activities designed to improve quality of care, patient safety and operational efficiencies. Assesses and allocates adequate resources to achieve quality care, patient safety and operational effectiveness throughout the organization. Drives improvements and results in all areas of responsibility, leveraging key metrics to ensure accountability, ensuring that goals and contract deliverables are met or exceeded. Responsible for guiding the strategic focus, as well as the production of reports for the Board, Quality Councils, Patient Safety Committees, MECs and any additional internal and external committees and reports as required. Provides leadership and oversight to direct reports, organizing and directing talent and resources to deliver results and achieve strategic goals, while establishing/maintaining a collaborative and value-driven team culture. Actively promotes and supports professional development of direct reports and other members of the team reporting up to this position. Accountable for ensuring compliance with the organization’s compliance plan and all applicable federal, state and local rules and regulatory requirements. This position requires a Master’s in health care administration or a related field and ten or more years of progressive healthcare experience preferably in an integrated healthcare system with leadership experience and proven success leading complex, strategic quality or population health initiatives. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment with a history of success working in a highly matrixed organization recognizing that this is a requirement to be an effective member of the leadership team at Luminis Health.
