Details Posted: December 27, 2020 Location: Nashville, Tennessee Show Map Salary: Open Discipline: Operations Description HR Data Processing Specialist Vanderbilt University Medical Center is searching for a new member for our HR Data Processing Team. This team member will be responsible for data entry of employee records in addition to other employee record duties. Key Functions and Expected Performances: * Accurately process and maintain employment records such as new hire paperwork, employee transfers, terminations and other employee data changes using PeopleSoft HRMS. * Verify data accuracy and resolve discrepancies timely. Cross audit of employee records entered to maintain data integrity. * Provide support to other team members within the HR Operations department. * Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information. * Work in a fast-paced, team environment while meeting required deadlines. * Follow established procedures in a timely and accurate manner and offer suggestions for process improvements. * Scan, index and audit all backup documentation into electronic record keeping system. * Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customers and co-workers to promote quality customer service. Evaluate, assess and respond promptly to customer inquiries through phone and multiple email accounts. * The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned. Minimum Qualifications: * Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills - both oral and written * Must be a strong goal oriented, self-motivated, and an independent hands-on worker * Strong organization skills and detail oriented * Positive attitude and team player * Must be able to maintain confidentiality * Must have the ability to effectively meet customer needs, taking responsibility for customer satisfaction. * Ability to follow established procedures in a timely and accurate manner and offer suggestions for improvements * Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment and under pressure of deadlines * Positive attitude and team player. * Work well with others in a team environment while able to work with an appropriate level of independence. * PeopleSoft HRMS experience a plus * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel and Word * 2 years experience with data entry Qualifications - External Job requires High school graduate or GED and 2 years of experience or the equivalent. TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES: DATA ENTRY (INTERMEDIATE): - The ability to transcribe information from the original source into an electronic system according to written and verbal instructions efficiently and accurately. CUSTOMER SERVICE (INTERMEDIATE): - A continuing focus on the needs and requirements of customers, anticipating their needs, remaining sensitive to customers while performing services for them, responsive to customer needs. PAYROLL (NOVICE): - Knowledge of payroll processing including entry of employee information, tax, benefits and other deductions, use of the appropriate payroll software or interaction with outside payroll services, and exception processing. Knowledge of payroll reporting such as earning statements, payroll journals, department summaries, cash positions, and tax liabilities and deposits. DOCUMENT AUDITING (NOVICE): - Auditing is conducting an independent review and examination of records and activities in order to test the adequacy and effectiveness of procedures, policies, standards, rules, capabilities and other aspects to ensure compliance with established policy and operational procedures, and to recommend any necessary changes. CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES: Organizational Impact: Performs tasks that are typically routine that may impact team's performance with occasional guidance. Problem Solving/ Complexity of work: Utilizes some discretion and research to solve routine problems. Breadth of Knowledge: Applies knowledge of standards, established processes and procedure that apply to your own job. Team Interaction: Provides guidance to entry level co-workers.
