Children’s Hospital of Richmond, VCU Health in Richmond, Virginia is partnering exclusively with Cejka Search to conduct a national recruitment for an accomplished nurse executive to serve as the Associate Chief Nursing Officer. This is an exciting time to join VCU Health as the system is in the midst of building an 86-bed, $350 million free-standing children’s hospital adjacent to its outpatient Children’s Pavilion in downtown Richmond.
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer of VCU Health and the Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Hospital of Richmond (CHoR), the Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) provides the administrative and financial leadership, management and oversight for nursing services for CHoR. Serving as a member of the children’s hospital Senior Leadership Team, and working in collaboration with leaders and medical staff across VCU Health system and VCU College of Medicine, the ACNO will contribute, support and operationalize the strategic growth plans of pediatric care to provide comprehensive, compassionate, state-of-the-art pediatric health care. The ACNO will develop, implement and promote strategies that attain the highest quality of patient care, efficient nursing services and positions CHoR for immediate success while supporting the continued growth and sustainability of pediatric care to the population of Richmond and greater Virginians. The ACNO will advance evidence-based nursing standards, foster a professional and high performing work environment committed to team and interdisciplinary collaboration and enhance patient satisfaction and quality of care. The ACNO will also serve on the system’s quality counsel to advance the enterprise-wide nursing platform and continuum of care.

Proven leadership with at least 10 years of progressive nurse leadership experience with a Master’s degree or pursuit of higher education. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence in leadership, staff development, and enhancement of quality and patient care services with a passion for advancing the access to high quality pediatric patient care and service. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate a complex healthcare setting are essential.
