The Community Programs Specialist is responsible for:
The successful planning and execution of educational events, meets and community outreach programs, promoting the Geisinger Health Plan image in the community.
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with community partners and leadership to advance the public’s awareness and adoption of initiatives related to health and well-being.
Traveling extensively throughout the Service area, performing hands-on outreach and educational activities.
Meeting with the designated population in various venues to educate, inform, and promote Geisinger’s image, services and events.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft software programs including Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, Outlook email and other pertinent Intranet tools. Ability to learn and use CRM sales database.
Demonstrates sharp organizational, written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work independently and function effectively under frequent time constraints.
Demonstrates the ability to compile and analyze data.
Demonstrates the ability to perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
Demonstrates responsive, accurate and courteous customer service and effective human relations skills.
Ability to be a self-starter, accept travel and work independently in the field.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Required Education:High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in related field.
Required Experience: Minimum 2 years related experience. Managed care insurance operations experience is preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment, public or home setting.
Extensive, independent travel required with mileage reimbursement
Reliable transportation and flexibility in work hours required
