This role is a key leadership interface between Human Resources (HR) and Winchester Medical Center (WMC) and Corporate senior management and is a key member of the Winchester Medical Center (WMC) Executive Team. Main functions of the Vice President role are to (1) collaborate with and support the WMC Executive Team and WMC and Corporate operations leadership to improve employee relations, retention, engagement, and overall workforce performance; (2) assist and support the system-wide focus to change the culture to one that is highly reliable and customer service oriented; (3) lead, facilitate and drive improvement in employee injury reduction (zero injury program) across Valley Health System; (4) promote HR process standardization and process improvement based on feedback from clients; and (5) mentor, coach and develop WMC/Corporate leaders and human resources staff within reporting line.
Works independently without direct supervision; reports directly the SVP/CHRO and VP Community Health and Wellness with a dotted line matrix reporting relationship to the VHS SVP and President WMC for the following accountability: HR Business Partnership activities for departments rolling up through WMC and oversight for WMC Volunteer Services and Employee Health Services at WMC. The incumbent will serve as the key back-up to the SVP/CHRO and VP Community Health and Wellness during times of absence by providing support for the executive team at Valley Health and the broader human resources, organizational development and community health and wellness teams.
This position is located in Winchester at Winchester Medical Center and oversees the HR Business Partners for WMC and for the Corporate Departments, WMC Volunteer Services, and Employee Health Services across Valley Health System
Attention to detail; requires leadership, organizational and teaching skills. Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor with employees, medical staff, physicians, and patients/families.
Requires a minimum of ten years human resources leadership experience, with at least seven years of generalist experience supporting senior and executive leaders Requires a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience Demonstrated experience improving employee engagement and reducing turnover required Demonstrated experience applying laws and policies to employee relations issues for a favorable outcome Experience in facilitation, leader/staff coaching and team building required Health care experience required Experience designing and implementing total rewards and talent management programs preferred Ability to review multiple data sources and prepare and present concise analysis required
