JOB SUMMARY : We are seeking a dynamic, leader to serve as our Director of Human Resources. The ideal candidate will possess the confidence and vision to translate organizational goals and strategies into HR actions and solutions. Our department serves over 4,500 employees, in multiple locations, including those covered by collective bargaining agreements.
Responsibilities include :
Serves as subject matter expert on policies, collective bargaining agreements, regulatory & licensing requirements and system programs/resources.
Provides guidance on employee engagement; stays current on the latest retention and engagement strategies.
Develops and implements initiatives to improve recruitment, engagement and retention of our workforce.
Educates, coaches, supports and empower leaders and employees to make sound business decisions.
Partners with leadership to proactively address opportunities to improve our work environment and increase training & development programs for our employees.
Handles and provides oversight to employee disciplines and employee relations matters; ensures handling in a timely, effective manner in accordance with our just culture philosophy.
Participates in labor relations proceedings including grievances, arbitrations and collective bargaining sessions.
Ensures compliance with state and federal laws including, but not limited to, ADA, FLA, FLMA and Workers Compensation.
Prepares and delivers presentations to leadership and employees on key HR topics and initiatives.
Serves on Medical Center committees including Licensing & Accreditation, Safe Patient Handling, Safety and Violence Prevention.
Participates in System committees such as EPIC and Workforce Development.
Educates, encourage, supports and supervises designated Human Resources professionals.
Bachelor s Degree required; Masters preferred.
HRCI or SHRM certification (SPHR or SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
Three to five years previous leadership experience; at least two years in an acute care hospital setting essential.
Recent experience in managing employee relations in a complex, blended environment non-union and unionized employees strongly preferred.
Experience working as part of a team leading transformational/cultural change desirable.
