Providence is calling an Insurance and Claims Technician to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Insurance and Claims Technician to be responsible for supporting the entire insurance renewal process through activities that include gathering accurate underwriting and exposure data, preparing insurance applications and resolving subjectivities for certain commercial insurance placements tracking and filing proposals, binders, confirmation of binding and policies. Supports insurance lines as requested which may include Directors and Officers, Crime, Fiduciary, Travel Accident, Aviation, International, auto, HPL GL, Property, and EPL.
In this position you will:
Respond to requests for basic surety bonds and processes invoices for payment by coordinating with brokers.
Review and prepare basic requests from facilities for Certificates of Insurance, prepares letters, obtains Certificates of Insurance from third parties, verifies information from parties requesting the above, and maintain and file the electronic records.
Provide administrative support, primarily to the insurance team, designated Claim Managers, Director Risk and Insurance and the department
Produce high volume, accurate correspondence.
Demonstrate knowledgeable use of software, create comprehensive Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, access STARS data, and generate reports, operate copy/FAX/scan equipment and coordinate repairs.
Prepare effective meeting agenda and minutes, department email groups, professional association membership, and other activities as requested to support the department.
Develop plans and work processes to effectively and efficiently complete assigned tasks, prioritize workloads and collaborate with department members., Prepare travel reservations and calendar management for the System Director Risk and Insurance and designated Claim Managers.
Schedule meetings, conference calls and video conferences. Communicate clearly to achieve customer satisfaction.
Process and maintain files for claim and insurance invoices.
Insurance and Claims Technicians Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
The equivalent of an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or paralegal training, or a related discipline or equivalent experience in insurance, legal, risk, claims fields.
2 years’ experience with insurance/risk.
3 year’s current administrative or secretarial experience using Word, PowerPoint,and Excel.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Previous health care risk management experience.
Experience with claim database software.
